I would like to make some points about this message. First, in analyzing al-Qaeda's messaging, it is always important to consider the action of a hero (mujahid Umar Farouk} which was executed December 25th 2009. May Allah re leave him more broadly, the themes it hits suggests that the Muslims countries must be free from foreign imperialist control, most especially from the oppression of United State. The rejection of US interference in the Muslim world is a task which must be accomplished, the Muslim countries must be free, we have get to do it in other to save Muslim world from destruction, to frustrate United State who are busy making Muslim countries a mere geographical application.
The world have portrayed the action as a claim of responsibility by al-Qaeda's central leadership for bin Laden's attack. under a more careful examination, the action does not go that far. True, bin Laden attacked United States as inherently linked to the situation that the Muslim countries face eg. Palestinians, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. His raid is meant to refute the charge of USA indifference toward the Muslim world by holding out terrorism.
Moreover, the Al-Qeada's in Nigeria are obviously in need of your financial support to carry out a raid against US in other to save our brothers in Palestinians, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. Presently the Al-Qeada decided to launch this attack from Nigeria considering the fact that United State is watching over all the Muslim countries.
So Nigeria is considered a safer place to successfully carry out this deadly attack against United State. We contacted you regarding the progress of this raid in good faith, and strongly believe that you will give us the maximum support.

June 27, 1096: The Crusaders who had broken away from Emich proceeded down the Rhine, spending from June 24 to June 27 in massacring the Jews at Neuss, Wefelinghofen, Eller and Xanten. [1] This was the second massacre at Xanten in a month. Fifty Jews died. At Eller, five Jewish community leaders were assigned the task (by the community) of killing all the members and then themselves rather than suffer at the hands of the Crusaders. Out of a community of three hundred, only four remained, badly wounded.[2] Then the Crusaders dispersed, some returning hime, others probably merging with the army of Godfrey of Bouillon. News of Emich’s exploits reached the parties that had already left for Germany for the East. Volkmar and his followers arrived at Prague at the end of May. [3]
June 25 to June 27, 1240: Disputation of Paris. Pope Gregory IX puts Talmud on trial on the charges that it contains blasphemy against Jesus and Mary and attacks on the Church.[4] It ended its deliberation after three days. The commission condemned the Talmud be burned. The sentence of condemnation was not executed. Apparently Archbishop Walter Cornutus of Sens, a prelate influential with the King, interceded on behalf of the Jews and succeeded in having many of the confiscated volumes of the Talmud returned to their rightful owners.[5]

June 27, 1709: Peter the Great defeats Charles XII of Sweden at the Battle of Poltava. The Russian victory marked the beginning of the end for Sweden as a major European military and political power. Charles XI, the father of Charles XII had banned Jews from living in Sweden. Charles XII did not adhere to his father’s wishes since he used Jewish merchants as court treasurers and royal paymaster for his armies when they were in the field. The father’s religious concerns were overridden by the son’s financial needs. Peter the Great did not want Jews living in his ever expanding kingdom. During the war with Sweden, when the fighting reached Poland, Russian soldiers were given in a free hand in looting and pillaging the Jewish property and taking whatever liberties they wished with the Jewish populace.[8]

A large number of Germans began to migrate to America about the year 1709. Most came from Southwestern Germany, the Palatine, Alsace, Baden and Wuertemberg. The invasions by the French had impoverished these people and they saw no future for themselves in western Europe. Their route was usually down the Rhine River to Rotterdam, in Holland, and then to America. Most of them arrived in Philadelphia and were welcomed as settlers in Pennsylvania. Those who followed them went farther west in search of land. At first their route was to Conestoga (Lancaster) and then on through Hagerstown, Maryland, into the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia..[9]

In the secret Stuart Papers of 1709, an account of the state of feeling and capability of each clan is given. The tribes are thus tabulated:—
The MacKinnons with twelve others are mentioned as " loyal," and able to bring to the field, "very good men."
The Farquharsons, " loyal."
The M’Intoshes and M'Phersons, " at present loyal," but very good men."
The Stuarts and Robertsons of Athol, " loyal " and " good men."

The Frasers, only “loyally inclined,” but “very good men.”
The Sinclairs, “esteemed loyal,” and “indifferent good men.”

The Rosses and Grants “may be brought into the field,” but are “none of tile best men.”
The Campbells of Breadalbin, “pretend to be very loyal” and are “ndifferent good men.”
It is needless to add, that the flower of the army was, as had long been the case, that little body of Highland Islanders, the MacDonalds, MacKinnons, MacLeans and MacNeills. [10]

Thursday June 27, 1754
An Indian messenger brings news that a French army has been gathered at Fort Duquesne and soon will be moving south towards the British force. Washington decides to end the road building work and also to ask Captain Mackay to bring his South Carolina company from the Great Meadows to Gist's Plantation.[13]
Washington‘s last journal entry of the campaign was on June 27, 1754. It also mentions road
building:
June 27. Detached Captain Lewis, Lieutenant Waggoner and Ensign Mercer, two
Sergeants, two Corporals, one drummer and sixty men, in order to endeavor to clear a
road to the mouth of RedStone Creek, on Monongahela.[14]

Thomas Jefferson was assigned to prepare the Declaration and he did the workd in the Graff HOUSE, WHERE HE RENTED THE TWO second floor rooms. When he had it finished Adams and Franklin reviewed it. The document was completed and submitted to the Second Continental Congress on June 28. [16]

But the ministry and the empire paid a terrible price for the German auxiliaries. The answer to the treaty with the Landgrave was the Declaration of Independence. The employment of foreign mercenaries by the British government was largely instrumental in persuading the Americans to throw off their allegiance to the English crown, and to seek the alliance of their former enemies. The danger pointed out in the protest of the lords became a reality, and men of English blood held that France had as good a right as Hesse to interfere in their domestic quarrels [17]

Frances Gotlop’s Regiment: “June 27 - At ten-thirty the entire army marched away from the left. The march was very strenuous again and the day unbearably hot, to which was added a shortage of beverages. Our regiment lost a man who was so worn out by the heat and the march that he dropped dead. [18]
June 27, 1777 the Congress recorded:
That there be advanced to Colonel George Morgan, 20,000 dollars, for compleating the
payment of monies he has engaged for on contracts for provisions, which are directed to
be laid up in magazines at Fort Pitt, for the supply of the different garrisons in that
quarter; for the expenditure of which, the said Colonel George Morgan is to be
accountable.
Ordered, That the same be advanced.[19]

There was one council held at which I was not present. The warriors had sent for me as usual, but the squaw with whom I lived would not suffer me to go, but hid me under a large quantity of skins. It may have been from an unwillingness that I should hear in council the determination with respect to me, that I should be burnt.
About this time, twelve men were brought in from Kentucky, three of whom were burnt on this day; the remainder were distributed to other towns, and all, as the Indians informed me , were burnt. This was after the speech came from Detroit.[20]
June 27, 1787: After 25 years of work, Edward Gibbon completes the manuscript of the History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Gibbon had a very low opinion of the Jewish people describing them as the “disturbers of the religious harmony of the ancient world” who had emerged from the deserved obscurity resulting from the enslavement by the Assyrians and Babylonians to observe their “peculiar rites and unsocial manners” with “sullen obstinacy.” [Ed. Note: It only gets worse after this.][21]
1789 - June 27 - The Spanish Governor refused to grant any of the land marked out by Colonels George Harrison* and Benjamin Harrison, which they gave notice they reserved for themselves and their friends, extending 20 miles north of New Madrid and embracing 200 separate tracts exclusive of lakes and marshes. June 27, 1844: The religion rapidly gained converts, and Smith set up Mormon communities in Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois. However, the Christian sect was also heavily criticized for its unorthodox practices, such as polygamy, and on June 27, 1844, Smith and his brother were murdered in a jail cell by an anti-Mormon mob in Carthage, Illinois. [23]Brigham Young becomes head of the Mormon Church after its leader, Joseph Smith, is killed by a mob in Nauvoo, Illinois.[24]Two years later, Smith's successor, Brigham Young, led an exodus of persecuted Mormons from Nauvoo, Illinois, along the western wagon trails in search of religious and political freedom. In July 1847, the 148 initial Mormon pioneers reached Utah's Valley of the Great Salt Lake. Upon viewing the valley, Young declared, "This is the place," and the pioneers began preparations for the tens of thousands of Mormon migrants who would follow them and settle there.[25]

June 27, 1942: Abram Gotlib born July 4, 1915 from Varsovie (Warsaw, Poland) was on Convoy 4. [16] When they arrived in Auschwitz, on June 27, the 1,000 deportees received numbers 41773 to 42772. On August 15, seven weeks later, 557 were still alive. Forty-Five percent had died, as compared to ythe 80% for the preceding convoy. Two factors explain this considerable differenc. First, the average age on this convoy was five years less than the preceding two. Second, more than 90% of the deportees were of Polish origin and better able to resist the terrible conditions in the Polish camp of Auschwitz than, for example, were the 435 French Jews of Convoy #3, which had left just three days earlier.
To the best of our knowledge, 59 survivors returned in 1945.[33]
• June 27, 1942: The New York Times devoted two inches to the Bunde report on June 27. It had picked up the information from CBS in New York, which had recorded Zygielbojm’s BBC broadcast the preceding day. The Times’s brief account noted that 700,000 Polish Jews had been slain, and igt quoted the broadcast’s disclosure that “to accomplish this, probably the greatest mass slaughter in history, every death-dealing method was employed-machine-gun bullets, hand grenades, gas chambers, concentration camps, whipping, torture instruments and starvation.”[34]

Cherbourg falls to United States forces, the first major French port to come under Allied control, during World War II.[35]
1950. June 27, President and Brother Harry S Truman ordered the Air Force and Navy into the Korean conflict after a call from the UN Security Council for members to help South Korea repel an invasion from North Korea. The President then ordered Brother Douglas MacArthur, commanding general of American Far east forces to Tokyo, to provide the Republic of Korea troops with American and naval air power. Bro. Truman later gave Brother MacArthur authority to also commit ground troops to the conflict Brother Truman explained America's position this way: "To return to the rule of force in international affairs would have far-reaching effects. The United States will continue to uphold the law." (Newsday: This Day in History; Chronicle of America; Masonic Leadership Center)[36]

While at the Geneva Festival yesterday I noticed an office with a sign that read Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors. www.FVJN.org. They have programs and meetings so I will be checking into this next week. Also at the festival was a Rosemaling competition where they paint designs on different objects. One of the competitors was named Rose Maxson who as it turned out had a husband that was working there so Sherri ended up finding a long lost relative! What a cool festival.
